Pulse For a Cause: Pure Barre's Partnership with the American Heart Association

As February ushers in Heart Health Month, Pure Barre is excited to share that for the third consecutive year, we've joined forces with American Heart Association (AHA) to bolster our commitment to cardiovascular well-being.

Throughout February, we are putting a spotlight on heart-healthy initiatives, kicking off with our "I Pulse For" campaign. Join us as we invite the community to discover their #PureHeart "why" and share it with us. Keep an eye out for "I Pulse For" signs at your local Pure Barre studio.

On February 2nd, National Wear Red Day, we're turning our studios red and urging our community and social media followers to join us. It's a powerful way to draw attention to heart disease and stroke—two issues close to our hearts.

“The American Heart Association has long understood the relationship between physical activity and good heart and brain health,” said American Heart Association Orange County and Inland Empire Board President, Pranav M. Patel, M.D., Chief, Division of Cardiology, UC Irvine. “For that reason, we are excited that Pure Barre is a national Life is Why supporter, helping to raise awareness around heart disease and stroke within their Pure Barre studios, while allowing members to raise vital funds for the mission of the American Heart Association.”

Throughout the month, we will provide opportunities for our community to directly support AHA online and in the studio. All contributions play a crucial role in funding groundbreaking research, advocating for public health, and providing lifesaving resources. American Heart Month: A Necessity

Cardiovascular disease has been the No. 1 killer of Americans since 1920, claiming a life every 34 seconds. American Heart Month, initiated in 1963 by President Lyndon B. Johnson, aims to raise awareness and improve cardiovascular health. Despite these efforts, heart disease remains the leading cause of death in both men and women.

Pure Barre & Heart Health

Several factors contribute to heart health, with exercise and a healthy diet being crucial. American Heart Association outlines 8 key steps to improve cardiovascular health, including maintaining a healthy weight through regular exercise. Pure Barre offers 4 class formats designed to meet these recommendations, providing low-impact, full-body workouts.

Pure Barre Classic™:  Our signature low impact and high intensity barre class.

Pure Barre Align™: Flexibility and balance training combined with our classic strength-building barre technique.

Pure Barre Define™:  Weight-based strength training combined with our classic barre technique.

Pure Barre Empower™:  A fusion of barre, cardio and interval training.

“We support cardiovascular health in our workouts and our communities,” said Cheri Tennill, Chief Marketing Officer of Pure Barre. "We’re thrilled to collaborate with American Heart Association to share education on heart health with our community and further their vital mission. By raising awareness and providing an inclusive barre community, we can enable everyone to achieve the recommended 150 minutes of physical activity per week and improve their lives.”
